Dharuma Tharu, Co-Founder and Technical Advisor of LT Capital Pte Ltd, brings over 20 years of experience in the financial industry with expertise spanning private equity, family office advisory, and private banking. During his tenure at LT Capital, he successfully managed a development fund of the 3rd largest student accommodation portfolio in Australia, spanning 5600 beds across 5 key educational cities, which was successfully exited through a direct sale to a sovereign wealth fund. He has also oversaw the development of affordable housing development projects in 2 key regions in Malaysia and it’s current exit. Before establishing LT Capital, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Compliance at Oclaner Asset Management (2010–2019), where he built family office platforms for European and Asian clients and launched the firm’s direct investment arm focused on real estate opportunities across Southeast Asia.

His earlier career includes senior roles at LGT Bank as a private banker (2009) and at HSBC (2003–2009), where he served as an FX trader in Treasury & Capital Markets and later as a private banker under the regional management program. Through these roles, Dharuma developed an extensive investor and operator network across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.

Academically, Dharuma holds an MEng in Chemical Engineering from University College London (2001) and a diploma in accounting principles from the London School of Economics. His early research on supercritical fluids was published in the Chemical Engineering Transactions Journal in 2002.
